- In your role as Cloud Database Specialist, you are a valuable member of our Cloud Center of Excellence, working alongside a highly skilled team of database and infrastructure experts to drive the adoption of public cloud services (particularly Microsoft Azure). You will develop innovative and efficient cloud database architectures, integrate them seamlessly into our hybrid cloud environment and look after the existing on-premises databases until they are migrated to the cloud. With your expertise, you ensure successful implementation of the cloud migration strategy and smooth operation of the databases.
your area of responsibility
Planning, implementation and maintenance of database solutions in the Microsoft Azure Cloud
Optimization and performance tuning of existing databases
Monitoring, troubleshooting and ensuring database integrity
Participation in the conception and implementation of database architectures for new projects
Close cooperation with other teams to ensure smooth integration of the databases into the overall systems
Evaluation of new technologies and best practices in the field of database development
Her strengths
Completed degree in computer science, business informatics or comparable training
Demonstrable professional experience in the administration and optimization of databases
Sound knowledge of SQL database technologies
Experience with tools and services in the Azure environment (e.g. Azure SQL Database, MongoDB, Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc.)
Good knowledge of script development (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
Experience with Azure DevOps Pipelines and Git is a plus
Understanding of database security concepts and best practices
High level of initiative, solution-orientation and ability to work in a team
Strong communication skills in German and English
