Rystad Energy is an independent research and business intelligence company, equipping clients with data and insights that power better decision making. The Technology department consists of multiple teams working together to drive our products and as a Data Scientist, you will join a rapidly expanding and ambitious team of data scientists, data engineers and dev-ops engineers who are developing foundational tools, systems, and models to enable Rystad Energy's data-driven products.
What you will be doing:
Take on a leadership role as technical expert, driving innovation and mentoring data scientist by leveraging your extensive experience and expertise.
Build, scale, iterate, and take ownership of existing data science models and pipelines , leveraging your expertise for optimal and diverse approach usage.
Design and implement new data models , incorporating the latest technologies and best practices.
Taking a key role in the DS lifecycle of new projects
Exploring/staying up to date with new technologies that can improve our tech stack
Play a key role in projects involving satellite data, geospatial systems, Weather and aviation
Collaborate on roadmap architecture and presenting to decision makers
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts to develop and deploy data-driven solutions.
Collaborate with Data Engineers, DevOps and others to enhance data reliability and process optimization
What you should have:
Minimum 3+ years of experience within a data science or adjacent field
Master's degree or equivalent experience in a data-driven field such as computer science, maths/physics, econometrics;
Proficiency in Python
Experience with Docker
Experience with SQL databases
Knowledge of applied statistics and machine learning models
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communicator, both written and verbal (English), who is able to explain complex concepts and architectures to developers and senior decision makers
Team-oriented, collaborative and delivery focused
Great if you have:
Experience with distributed cluster-computing (e.g. Spark, Dask, Hadoop)
Experience with cloud deployment (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Experience working on geospatial problems (i.e. Satellite imagery)
Experience in large-scale NLP text analysis (LLM)
Proficiency with Graph and or geospatial databases
Experience within Agile framework and Kanban approach
